It's a Harry Potter Birthday!

Some may say I am crazy, but I think birthdays are important, so I try to make my kids feel extra special on this ONE day that is all about them! Jax wanted a Harry Potter theme, so without breaking the bank, I looked for ways to create this thematic birthday.  Here are a few things we made:

Loot Bags: contain gummy frog, gummy slugs or worms, magic trick, word search of Hogwarts creatures, and two Golden Snitch balls made from Ferrero Roche's.

Wands made out of chopsticks, hot glue, and spray paint!

I bought a plain cake and decorated it myself!

I also ordered these frog molds from Amazon for just over $2 and made some chocolate frogs! So easy!

We also had a magician (who brought magic tricks for all the kids to take home and made each kid a balloon animal) and a scavenger hunt for creatures. Here is the link to my scavenger hunt, there is a link below to another version with points to be earned. Mine was "finders keepers".
I bought all the bugs at Walmart.
